Money & Tax

The problem as I see it is that we all want more money and we don’t want to pay more tax, however we still want all the things we don’t want to pay taxes for so that we have the free cash to spend on the frivolous, we basically want it all but want someone else to pay. No government will win your vote if they go for a tax rise but that same government will get a kicking from you by not funding enough police, nurses, doctors, fire staff, benefits and pensions when in fact that is what we the tax payer are inflicting on ourselves.

We are all living longer which is a huge strain on taxes. I guess we could adopt the Logan’s Run policy on life that would save a few quid long term (that was a film reference for those of you under the age of 40). You see its a balancing act you can have it now or later or both we just need to decide whats important in our lives. If there are less benefits going out now or more taxes paid now then when we are older there should be a comfortable end to our existence on this planet (so long as they allow the introduction of voluntary euthanasia, but that’s a different subject for a later rant). With more people on the planet, the more benefit we need to pay of one kind or another and therefore less to spread about. 

If for example we support less children with benefit there will be more money in the pot, have less kids and there will be more jobs to go around - therefore countering the unemployment rise and the associated unemployment and housing benefits. Have less children we have more available jobs and what a surprise we have more money to go around.That all sounds very simplistic but there really is nothing too complex in balancing the numbers when we start to be held accountable and stop expecting others to help us out, especially at a time when there is less of everything - with the exception of people.

Don’t get me wrong its not ideal, ideal would be do what you want without consequence, but this is life not a video game and I think the Maths are relatively simple. By the way its not this governments fault as they inherited the last governments problems and its not theirs either as they picked up the mess from the previous one who had to deal with the nightmare that was the party before and so on and so on......
