Kids - How many do you want? How many do we have to pay for?

The world is getting more populated every year, we have more mouths to feed, and the situation is not going to change unless WE (that we is not the Tories, or Labour or the Liberals, Greens etc it is us, the everyday worker) start to do something about it. We are quick to blame the country for not having enough money, but we don't stop and think should we have 3 kids, can we afford 3 kids, we just have them knowing that's the country will support them with child allowances, housing and tax credits all over the place.
The Children are our future. Someone famous wrote that into a song but they are, at the rate of worldwide growth, potentially one of the biggest problems on the planet. If there are no jobs now (well ones you want to do) and we are coming up with ways to make things cheaper, more efficient, time saving and free of human touch there will be even less next year,
the year after, so on and so on. So how is having lots of kids going to solve that - put bluntly it isn’t it will actually heap more strain on the pockets of all of us and we have to take drastic steps now.
My thoughts are, as a tax payer, if you cannot afford to bring children into the world and you cannot afford the things they will need or demand from you then don't have them and don’t expect me to subsidise you. When you are on poverty street you will blame the government for not giving (operative word GIVING) you more money!
Don't get me wrong I am not saying people should not have kids but maybe now is the time for us to say we appreciate your right to have children but we have to limit how many we can afford to pay for. Maybe the first two the state pays as they do today, but after that you should be in a position to provide for them yourself. After all you would not buy 3 cars knowing you can only afford to run 1, so why have half a dozen kids and then expect tax payers to bring them up.
I am not a complete ogre, (though some of you will be thinking I am), and if you are unfortunate enough to have quads, quintuplets +++ then that is not planned for and you have to be supported through that mayhem. I am referring to those people who have had children to get a home free, those who see the kids as a way to finance their way of life and not that of their children.
